Maro Marmarinou

Maro Marmarinou was born in Athens in 1979. Her activity with the creative movement and the rhythmic  started at the dance school of Lena Zamboura and Kate Tsilimigra and she studied at the Higher Professional Dance School of Despina Grigoriadou. 

With scholarship of I.K.Y she continued her studies in Amsterdam -  School for New Dance Development (S.N.D.O.) and in London, where she gained the  MA in Choreography with Performing Arts from Middlesex University.

She has attended seminars with Julyen Hamilton, David Zambrano, Katie Duck, Pauline de Groot, Lily Kiara/Skinner Release Technique, Kurt Koegel, Michael Schumacher, Martin Sonderkamp, Fabian Chyle, Jeremy Nelson and others.

At the festival of new choreographers of the Dance and Rhythmic Union, she presented the choreography “Contradiction” and in Lakeview Theatre of London she presented the choreographies  “Oceans Apart “ and “Whispering in Between”, “Now and Then” .

She has worked as performer with Andra Perrin/Amsterdam, Patricia Apergi/London, Chiara Dollorenzo/Italy (video dance production), Maria Tsouvala/Athens, Performers/Athens and with others.
At the theatre she has worked as a choreographer at the plays “ekklisiazouses”  and “who discovered America”, directed by Gerasimos Destounis/Theatre of Kaisariani and as choreographer's assistant of Artemis Ignatiou/Dancetheatre ART at the production “Cold Water Traces”.

She teaches modern dance, creative game and extemporization to the preschool/school aged children.
